The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Monday chastised the Bono Regional Minister for using his political position to meddle in the Sampa chieftaincy affairs.
He spoke at the last Asanteman Council meeting of the year 2025 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The Asantehene said the Bono Regional Minister, as a lawyer, has an interest in the Sampa chieftaincy issues and therefore he, as Asantehene will not allow him to use his political position to meddle in the chieftaincy affairs.

According to the Asantehene, the Bono Regional Minister, who is also a lawyer, has a personal interest in the Sampa chieftaincy matter and must therefore refrain from leveraging his political office to influence the dispute.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stressed that chieftaincy matters must be handled through the appropriate traditional and legal channels, free from political interference.
He made it clear that, as custodian of Asante customs and traditions, he would not permit any political officeholder to meddle in chieftaincy affairs for personal or professional gain.
