Five arrested as Police recover pump-action gun, pistols and ammunition in Sapeiman Faase

The Accra Regional Police Command, in a joint intelligence-led operation with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID), has arrested five suspects and retrieved firearms, ammunition and other offensive items.
The suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation at Sapeiman Faase in the Accra Region.
The suspects, identified as Torgbui Agah Semaglo, 50, Shadrach Agah Semaglo, 22, William Kweku Sedanu, 21, Cyril Kassenu, 26, and Kingsford Agah Semaglo, 18, were arrested on July 17, 2026
A search conducted at the suspects’ premises led to the retrieval of one (1) pump-action gun, one (1) Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, one (1) dummy Austria pistol, one (1) jackknife, one (1) face mask, twelve (12) BB cartridges, three (3) rounds of 9mm ammunition, one (1) AK-47 round of ammunition, one (1) talisman, and two (2) kitchen knives.
All exhibits have been retained for evidential purposes.

According to the police, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are believed to be members of a criminal group involved in armed robbery and land guard activities.
Police also allege that they used the recovered weapons to terrorize residents within the Sapeiman area and its environs.
The suspects are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are underway to establish their involvement in other criminal activities and to apprehend any additional accomplices.
The Accra Regional Police Command commended members of the public who continue to support the Police with credible information and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest Police Station or through the Police emergency numbers.
The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the Region.
