Daddy, Broken Heart: The Double Music Release That Has Got Everyone In The UK And Ghana Dancing

Fast-rising Afrobeat and Afro-fusion artiste, AKUA GIFA, has officially stepped into the spotlight with her debut singles, “BROKEN HEART AND DADDY”, a soulful irresistible tune released few weeks ago. 

The British born-Ghanaian musician, known for blending rhythm, raw emotion, and authenticity, describes the project as both a personal healing process and a declaration of artistic purpose.

“For me, music is more than entertainment; it is identity, healing, and purpose,” Akua Gifa said. “I was born and raised in the UK but originally from Ghana, where life is full of rhythm, hustle, and real energy. My childhood had its tough moments, but it shaped who I am. The grind, the joy, the noise, the silence, it all fed into the artiste I’ve become.”

Her creative journey began early, inspired by the vibrant sounds of radio hits and community gatherings. A single family celebration, she recalls, cemented her path. “Watching people dance to music, something clicked in me. I knew music was my thing.”

Akua Gifa’s music reflects her diverse influences, from global icons to Ghana’s own icons. Her music weaves Afrobeat and fusion into a signature style rooted in emotion and truth. Her latest singles, “BROKEN HEART AND DADDY,” are the most personal work of her career, born out of heartbreak and betrayal. “It was painful to relive while writing, but the song became my healing,” she admitted. Unlike her usual high-energy records, these tracks take a softer, more reflective tone. “It’s okay to feel broken, but you don’t have to stay broken. Sometimes, pain is your path to power. Broken Heart is about ending what hurts you and choosing yourself.”

Despite facing doubt and pressure to take a safer route, Akua Gifa said her passion never dimmed. “Every time I tried to give up, a melody or beat pulled me back. This isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am.”

Looking ahead, the emerging artiste has her sights set on global recognition. “In three to five years, I see myself performing worldwide, sharing my truth. Personally, I just want to stay grounded and successful on my own terms,” she said. Her dream, she added, is to one day headline Afro Nation or Coachella and ultimately, win a Grammy.
